Epsilon Attacks! (イプシロン
Summary[]
Just when everyone thought the earth had been saved, Aliea Gakuen attacks once more, this time with Epsilon. These guys really mean business, and they're going to beat up Manyuuji in Kyouto. A new member is entering the team by the help of Haruna? Who is he? Will Raimon be able to help them, or is it too late?
Plot[]
The episode begins with a meteor striking Kyouto, which turns out to be Epsilon. Meanwhile, Hitomiko announces the members of Raimon that Epsilon wants to attack Manyuuji. She expains to them that Manyuuji is a strong team in both power and speed, but they never entered the Football Frontier because they don't seek out competition. She also explains that unlike Gemini Storm, Epsilon attacks schools with the intention of looking for worthy opponents and states that if they beat Epsilon, they might find out what Aliea Gakuen really wants. Meanwhile, detective Onigawara is speaking to prime-minister Zaizen Sousuke, trying to get information regarding the guys who kidnapped the prime-minister. He also reveals that Kageyama has escaped.
When Raimon arrive at Manyuuji, they notice how relaxed the people there are. They try looking for the soccer club, only to notice that Fubuki has already obtained the necessary information from some girls he has charmed. A small boy who is mopping the floors is angry because his teammates give him chores instead of allowing him to train. When he notices Raimon heading towards the soccer club, he decides to play a prank on them. When Endou steps on a shiny spot on the floor, he accidentally slips, then the other teammates trip over each other. Megane sprains his ankle because Kabeyama fell over him. When the small boy reveals he greased that portion of the gloor with wax, Touko tries to get him, only to fall in another of his traps, making her even more angry at the boy. When Manyuuji's captain Takita Atsushi arrives at the scene, the boy slacks off. He reaveals that the boy is his teammate and appologizes for his behaviour. He says that his name is Kogure and he's a troublemaker who sees everybody as an enemy. Because they decided to re-discipline him by having him start training from the very beginning, Kogure is now trying to get at his teammates by playing pranks on them. Takita also reveals that Kogure was apparently betrayed by his parents when he was young, which is why he lost his trust in everyone. Otonashi starts sympathizing with Kogure. After that, Hitomiko reminds Takita about the advanced notice they received from Epsilon. Raimon meet with the rest of Manyuuji to suggest having a match with them before Epsilon attacks again, but they refuse, because they're not looking for a fight. Someoka tries to convince them that this kind of attitude wouldn't work against Epsilon, but Manyuuji already made up their mind and go back to training. When Raimon don't know what to do anymore, Endou reminds them they can still train to become stronger and defeat Epsilon. When they decide to look for a training spot, Fubuki is seen talking to the same girls, who tell him where its location is.
At night, Kidou wakes up and finds Otonashi outside, who can't sleep due to still thinking about Kogure. She tells Kidou that she understands Kogure's feelings because when they lost their parents when they were young, she felt betrayed by them. Otonashi says that if she hadn't had Kidou, she would have become just like Kogure. However, Kidou tells Otonashi that she's the stronger one between the two, due to carrying on at Raimon all by herself without giving up. After Kidou goes back to sleep, Otonashi finds Kogure in the dojo, who is planning a prank for his teammates for revenge. Otonashi tries to argue with him that his teammates are only trying to help him, but Kogure doesn't believe her and thinks this is the way he can get at his teammates. When she suggests that he can get away at them with soccer, she figures out Kogure isn't confident in his own soccer and dares him to show his soccer skills. The next day, Otonashi convinces Furukabu to take part in the challenge, with the job to prevent Kogure to steal the ball from him. During the challenge, Furukabu easily leads over Kogure, but he admits the young boy has incredible speed that hasn't fallen off for two hours and his moves aren't as easy as they look. Otonashi realizes Kogure's moves in the game are similar to the ones he used when wiping the floor and ceiling.
All of a sudden, black fog appears. It's Epsilon, who came for their challenge with Manyuuji. Since they still refuse to fight, the aliens destroy part of the school, which finally sets Manyuuji off and they accept the match. Manyuuji show some skilled moves, but are easily overwhelmed by Epsilon and none of their hissatsu techniques work against them. The match ends with 0-15 for Epsilon, but when Desarm is ready to destroy the school, Endou challenges them to a match. His teammates remind him that since Megane's injured, they have only ten people left, but Otonashi tries to convince them to let Kogure play with them. Endou and the coach accept her idea, but Kogure is scared to play against Epsilon. Otonashi tells Kogure she believes he can do it.
