Info[]

This team originally was in support of Fifth Sector, but during their match against Raimon, their loyalty was tested. After Raimon was able to stop their signature hissatsu tactics, the team became briefly demoralised, not used to real soccer, but the actions of Minamisawa Atsushi inspired them to continue and despite losing they played their "soccer" to the end.

Gassan Kunimitsu vs. Raimon[]

This match takes place in the Cyclone Stadium. Gassan Kunimitsu used the tornadoes generated by the turbines located around the stadium to their advantage. They used the tornadoes to trap Raimon's members and to carry the ball, however, Matsukaze found a way around this, using Soyokaze Step to get past the tornadoes. However, when Kurama used his shoot hissatsu technique, Sidewinder towards Gassan Kunimitsu's goal, their goalkeeper, Hyoudou Tsukasa brought out his Keshin, Kyoshin Gigantes and used Gigantic Bomb against Kurama's shot, which succeeded. This is when the game starts to turn around, in favor of Gassan Kunimitsu.

Finally, Raimon won 3-2, thanks to Tenma and Kurama's chain shoot, Tenma's Keshin shoot and Tsurugi's Keshin hissatsu.

Trivia[]

  • Most of its members are named after renowned Japanese swordsmiths, samurais and ninjas.
    • In the European localization, all of its members are named after historical military figures.
  • Gassan Kunimitsu's captain, Hyoudou Tsukasa, is the only SEED of the team, although its coach, Kondou Keiji, and the rest of its members follow Fifth Sector's orders strictly.
    • However, after being defeated by Raimon, all members defected from Fifth Sector, even going as far as to be a part of Kakumei Senbatsu Team.
  • During the Holy Road tournament, Gassan Kunimitsu is the first team Raimon faced to have non-SEED Keshin users, those being Ichimonji Kirito and Shibata Kachidoki.
  • Seiya, a scout character, is featured in its concept artwork, suggesting he was originally intended to be a member of the team, but, ultimately, got replaced by Minamisawa.
