In the match between Galaxy Eleven and Ixal Fleet[2], Ibuki used it to try to catch the ball, but it was broken through by Ozrock using Ixaal's Soul Strike.
Usage[]
The user quickly gets into position, placing their left hand on top of their right arm while crouching, winding back their right hand and clenching it into a fist, gathering bright blue swirls of energy. They then spring high into the air, turning the surrounding area dim as a bright blue tornado with a dragon's head trails behind them. As the ball heads towards the goal, they wind back their right fist once more and thrust it downwards, opening their palm and pressing against the ball, with the dragon following suit and biting with its sharp jaws onto it, coming back into reality and catching it in their hand if successful.
Part of its name, Gekirin, is derived from 逆鱗 (also read as "Gekirin"), which, in turn, can be read as reverse scale, a reference to the Chinese legend in Han Feizi wherein a scale under a dragon's chin grows backwards, infuriating the dragon if touched, a reference to its usage.
