Inazuma Eleven (manga)

Inazuma Eleven (イナズマイレブン, Inazuma Irebun, lit. Lightning Eleven) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yabuno Tenya based on the eponymous series of video games created by Level-5. The manga has been published by Shougakukan in CoroCoro Comic since the June 2008 issue.

The manga is loosely based on the Inazuma Eleven games. It follows the Raimon Eleven team, led by Endou Mamoru, as they enter the Football Frontier tournament, and later on the Inazuma Japan team in the Football Frontier International. The manga for the original Inazuma Eleven series is 10 volumes long. The original series also includes 2 special editions targeted at the FFI arc.

Differences[]

The manga has several differences with the games and anime's storyline. These range from characters, such as Otonashi Haruna, Domon Asuka, Fuyuka, Saginuma Osamu, Kira Hitomiko being absent to plot points being completely ignored, for instance, Aliea Gakuen's arc.

It also features the scout character Tamano Gorou, who plays in the Raimon Eleven as a .

Trivia[]

Tamagorou replaces Shishido in the Football Frontier portion of the story.
- He later joins Inazuma Japan as a manager, replacing Megane and Fuyuka, although the latter is not present in the manga.
- Interestingly, Kiit Liando is still present in Little Gigant.
In early chapters, some hissatsu techniques have a specific object or creature representing them.
- For instance, Endou's God Hand featuring a devil similar to the one in Majin The Hand, and Gouenji's Fire Tornado featuring a flame dragon flying along with it.
The manga won the 2010 Kodansha Manga Award under children's category and the 2011 Shogakukan Manga Award under children's category.
