Appearance[]
Kazemaru has aquamarine hair tied into a ponytail with an orange hair tie, with bangs that cover his left eye. He has light brown eyes. His casual clothes consist of a white long-sleeved shirt underneath a yellow sleeveless vest and brown pants, as shown in episode 78.
In episode 64, Kazemaru is seen without his ponytail and wears his hair down loose. The Aliea Stone affected his appearance in this episode. His hair is desaturated, floating slightly, while his scleras turned purple and pupils more slit in a cat-like manner. He wears a black cloak with a hood that covers his whole head before revealing himself to Endou and the others. Underneath his cloak is the Dark Emperors uniform. He's also wearing the Aliea Stone as a necklace.
In Inazuma Eleven GO, Kazemaru has grown in height and wears his hair down with a small half-moon ponytail in the upper back. His new hairstyle has a lot of similarities with Edgar Valtinas's. The right-side bangs (the ones near the uncovered eye) are now straight. He wears a mustard orange jacket, gray trousers and dark brown shoes.
As of Inazuma Eleven Ares no Tenbin, his original hairstyle is slightly different. Similar to his GO appearance, his long fringe extends and wraps around the back of his head, and under there untied hair, not all pulled up for his ponytail this time, falling around his neck. But whereas in GO his fringe would tie to a small ponytail, it can't be seen where the loop of his hair ends.
Personality[]
Kazemaru is portrayed as a competitive character with a nice and friendly personality as he likes to play against strong players. He is shown to be very kind and caring towards his teammates but can be slow thinking. However, he sometimes has conflicted feelings within himself. He was shown to have some confidence issues under high pressure and was afraid of not being able to keep up with the rest of his teammates.
In season 2, he was too desperate to believe that his team could defeat Aliea Gakuen, which led him to leave Raimon and join Dark Emperors later. While reliable, he is also influential toward his teammates, for the better and the worse. This is shown when he left the team, Kurimatsu followed his lead; it also pushed Endou over the edge, which made him want to give up soccer.
He also has good leadership skills, which is most prominently portrayed during season 3 when he took over as captain while Endou, Kidou, Sakuma, and Fudou were helping Orpheus. He is close to his teammates, especially with his childhood friend Endou. It can be seen when Kazemaru was under Aliea Stone's control, he still remembered how tenacious Endou was. Moreover, when they won against Little Gigant, he jumped up and hugged Endou. He usually hangs out with his friends, like Midorikawa, Endou and Hiroto when they have the day off. He's kind of the type who can undoubtedly help and sacrifice himself for his friends. He leaves the track club, which he reveals later had friends who were important to him, to join Raimon to help Endou, which gradually grew his love for soccer. It also can be shown that he pushed Endou out and took the ball which was purposely targeted him in the first match with Teikoku or Gemini Storm. Similar to Inazuma Eleven the Movie: The Invasion of the Strongest Army Ogre, he covered for Kanon.
In the manga, he seems to care for his team as he's the one who taught Kabeyama about defensive tactics. Although he was injured during the second match against Teikoku Gakuen, he kept cheering on the rest of his teammates.
In Inazuma Eleven Ares no Tenbin and Inazuma Eleven Orion no Kokuin, he still has his original traits but is more serious at first. It is revealed later that he became cold to follow Kageyama's plans in order to help his team. He was also close with Gouenji, it was seen when they usually hung out to watch FF's matches. In Orion, Kazemaru was shown to be the rational voice in the team, this is often seen when he calms down other players during stressful and shocking events, or how he tries to reason with Kidou and talk him out of his plans to attack Ichihoshi. During the Asia prelims of FFI, after Endou and Kidou were forced to leave Inazuma Japan, his leadership, as well as his senior position, is shown and that he recommends the team do training, which Nosaka secretly asked him for, and fires them up from the start of the match with Eternal Dancers. He also uses his calmness to drag his teammates out of their confused state when Asuto was playing on Russia's side.
Plot[]
Background[]
Kazemaru is a longtime friend of Endou's, becoming acquainted before their time at Raimon. During their first year, when Raimon's Soccer Club only had 3 members, Kazemaru felt sorry for them and would help practice with them[1]. This practice often came in the form of running drills, where Someoka would get competitive with Kazemaru, turning the warm-ups into full-on sprints, leaving Someoka exhausted. As Kazemaru continued his activities on the Track and Field Club, the Soccer Club would cheer for him at events.
Inazuma Eleven[]
Season 1[]
Originally a member of the Raimon Track and Field Club, Kazemaru was asked by Endou to join Raimon's Soccer Club for their upcoming match against Teikoku Gakuen as they were short on players. At first, he said he would consider the offer, but after seeing Endou practising by himself intensely, he decided to join the team. During the first match against Teikoku, he became horrified by the type of football that Teikoku played.
During the match against Inazuma Eleven, he and Gouenji brought a new hissatsu; Honoo no Kazamidori. Just before the first match in the Football Frontier tournament against Sengoku Igajima, he had to decide whether to stay on the Raimon soccer team or to go back to the athletics club. This was brought on by Miyasaka, who kept pushing him to go back to the athletics club. However, after watching him play so passionately, Miyasaka allowed him to stay with the soccer team. After that, he won the Football Frontier tournament along with the Raimon team.
Season 2[]
Kazemaru fought against the teams from Aliea Gakuen at the beginning of season 2, but as the story progressed, he began to lose confidence in himself, seeing that he could not keep up with the levels of Aliea Gakuen, so he could not steal the ball and pass to his teammates.
During a practice session in Episode 033, Fubuki was able to outspeed and steal the ball from Kazemaru. Whilst the rest of the team were upset with Fubuki's brazen nature (due to Atsuya), Kazemaru decided that he'd need to match Fubuki to be as fast as him. He feared that if he didn't, he'd be unable to steal the ball from Gemini Storm and the cycle of defeat would continue. As a result of this, Fubuki says how they need to be more like the wind and takes the team snowboarding. Whilst snowboarding, Kazemaru notes how he can't see anything due to him not being used to the speed before crashing into some snow. Afterwards, he mentions to Someoka how he couldn't move his body how he wanted to but wanted to master it before Aliea appears again. At night, Endou and Kazemaru sat at the top of the Inazuma Caravan. Endou thanked Kazemaru for what he said when the team were upset with Fubuki, since he realised how the team needs to get stronger before they can be asking others to change. Kazemaru laments that even with Fubuki on the team, someone else still needs to be able to face up to Aliea too so they can give him the ball, otherwise they can't win. Endou reassures him that they'll all become like the wind. Kazemaru states how he wants more power and mentions how if he had the Aqua of the Gods that Zeus used he'd be powered up right away. He suggests that it would be alright to use it if it was to save the world. Endou yells at him, saying that they can't resort to cheap tricks otherwise they'd be the same as Kageyama Reiji. He says that they need to play fair and square since Aliea are using football to harm people. Kazemaru smiles and apologises stating he didn't know what got into him and to forget about it. The two later head back to do the snowboarding training and see Someoka there, they all train together realising how this training would be key to beating Aliea. After more snowboarding the next day, Kazemaru begins to master it. After practising against Ichinose and outmanoeuvring him, he states that he can finally move his body in the way he wants to.
During the match against Gemini Storm, Kazemaru was able to steal the ball from them by predicting their moves and was able to speed past the players.
After Raimon fought The Genesis for the first time, he decided to leave the team, much to the team's sadness. In the game, however, Kazemaru left the team after being badly injured during their match with The Genesis from pushing himself too hard and being specifically targeted (Gran did not approve of this and first exhibited his moral conflict). At the end of episode 63, Kazemaru appeared again, as the antagonist and the captain of Dark Emperors. The team consisted of previous Raimon members that left the team who had used the Aliea Stone to become stronger. Later, Endou's high spirit and willpower for soccer awakened Kazemaru and the other members from the meteorite's control. The Aliea Stone broke into pieces and he and the others were free once more. In the game, Kazemaru sheds tears to thank Endou before the Dark Emperors faint one-by-one, whereas in the anime Endou is the only one who faints.
Season 3[]
Three months after the Aliea Gakuen arc, Kazemaru was called by Coach Hibiki to be one of Inazuma Japan representatives. During the match, he showed great speed when passing by Tsunami, creating a wind pressure that threw him to the side. Later, he, along with Kogure and Kurimatsu, use their bodies to deflect Tsunami Boost. He was one of the chosen to join Inazuma Japan at the conclusion of the representative match. During the match with Neo Japan in episode 77, coach Kudou ordered Kazemaru to go somewhere and he returns covered in sweat. He was then substituted into the match, and he used his new hissatsu, Fuujin no Mai, which successfully broke their rival's defense, and passed the ball to Gouenji who used Bakunetsu Storm to score a point, breaking through Genda's Drill Smasher V2.
Kazemaru is seen taking a walk with Midorikawa in episode 78 and is also the fifth/sixth person to be spying on Endou and Fuyuka with Rika, Touko, Kabeyama, and Kurimatsu being the first four. This episode is his debut wearing casual clothes.
In the match with Fire Dragon in episode 82, he was able to steal the ball from Nagumo in the air while using Route of Sky with other Inazuma Japan members. In episode 83, Kazemaru, Kabeyama, and Hiroto had a conflict with Fudou because of his rough and seems-to-be-uncooperative playstyle, but they finally connected with each other thanks to Endou and Kidou. After using Killer Fields, Fudou passed the ball to Kazemaru, let him use a new hissatsu called Tatsumaki Otoshi – it was originally a hissatsu that Tsunami, who was already injured in the match, had in mind to use with Kabeyama - then made a goal for Inazuma Japan.
During the time when Endou, Kidou, Sakuma and Fudou helped Orpheus to defeat Team K, he was the temporary captain of the team when they were playing against The Empire, but was injured after saving their team from almost losing another goal in the last minutes in the first half of the match, making Hiroto the next temporary captain.
In the match with Unicorn, he learned another new hissatsu, The Hurricane with Fubuki which they used to score their first goal evening the score to 1-1.
In episode 123, after Inazuma Japan's kickoff, he received a pass from Hiroto and touched the ball to Someoka, who tried to score with Dragon Slayer V3. Unfortunately, the hissatsu was easily blocked by Rococo's God Hand X. As the Little Gigant's goalkeeper made a pass to Maxi, Kazemaru quickly stole the ball and proceeded to get past Kiit Liando with Fuujin no Mai 改. He then passed the ball to Hiroto, who tried to score a goal with Ryuusei Blade V3, not having a much better result than Someoka.
In episode 126, he is seen graduating from Raimon like the others, and when it was Endou's turn to receive the diploma, it was seen that he and the rest of Raimon were all crying because they were about to go their separate ways.
In episode 127, they had one last graduation match with each other, which ended in neither group scoring a goal, since they were all equally matched; all of them listened to Endou's last speech and promised that they'll keep on playing soccer from Endou's words "Let's play soccer!" to which everyone happily agreed on.
Inazuma Eleven GO[]
Kazemaru made his reappearance in episode 43, where he, along with Kira Hiroto, Midorikawa Ryuuji, Fudou Akio and Kabeyama Heigorou, were seen watching the match between Raimon and Dragonlink in Heavenly Emperor Stadium.
Inazuma Eleven Ares no Tenbin[]
Kazemaru ended up becoming a reinforcement committee member for Teikoku Gakuen. During a match against Seishou Gakuen, the team were met with a crushing defeat which made Kazemaru feel powerless as he was unable to lead the team. He would later find Kageyama who had made his way out of prison and question him, in where Kageyama told him in how all he wanted was to raise Japan's football skills using Teikoku. Kageyama then offered to teach Kazemaru how to lead the team, as long as he put is trust into him and listened to his orders. Kazemaru accepted his proposal, which led to Kageyama being reinstated as Teikoku's coach.[2] He would then appear with Kageyama, unveiling his reappointment to the team to the rest of Teikoku in a meeting. The rest of the team were angered by Kageyama's return, and were shocked to find Kazemaru choosing to side with him, in which Kazemaru stated that it was just his role as a reinforcement committee member to support the coach. Kazemaru would then take the reigns as he would teach the team the new Imperial Cycle tactic.[3] By following Kageyama's strategies, Kazemaru was able to lead Teikoku to victory in the rest of their successive practice matches. After that, Kazemaru reluctantly began to acknowledge Kageyama's great abilities as a coach.[2]
Before their match against Inakuni Raimon he was informed of a new strategy, which he questioned whether leaving the rest of the team unaware of it being a good idea. At the beginning of Teikoku's match against Inakuni Raimon, he didn't disapprove of the use of the special shoes controlled by Kageyama or Shimerigawa being given the captain's band, much to Sakuma's surprise. Inakuni Raimon took advantage of Teikoku's slowed down opponents and Asuto managed to get past him with Inabikari Dash.
After the shoes that slowed them down are turned off, Kazemaru and the others' speed went back to normal and they managed to surpass the exhausted Inakuni Raimon due to preserving their stamina. He used Shippuu Dash to get past Hiyori and had a flashback which revealed that Kageyama had manipulated Kazemaru into working for him after reminding him of Raimon's loss against Barcelona Orb and his desire to make Teikoku stronger.
During the second half, Fudou and Sakuma convinced him to give the team their normal shoes because they should play their own soccer instead of relying on technology, but after the match ended, Kazemaru revealed that Teikoku going against Kageyama's orders was a part of his plan all along.
After being out of the tournament, he and Gouenji went together to watch matches of Raimon, and even with Endou, Kidou, Sakanoue in the final match.
Inazuma Eleven Orion no Kokuin[]
Kazemaru was chosen as a defender for Inazuma Japan. The players who were selected, aside from Nosaka and Nishikage, came together wearing their uniform and went to the Kawaguchiko Sports Center with the bus. Later the whole team was introduced to their coaches and managers. The next day, Clario Orvan appeared, using Diamond Ray which went straight through Kazemaru and the rest of the team.
Kazemaru was chosen as one of the starting players for the match between Inazuma Japan and Red Bison. Baek Shi-woo used Red Break to try and score the first goal for his team but Kazemaru used his new hissatsu Spinning Fence to prevent him from shooting, also stealing the ball in the progress, then gave it back to Endou. After Baek Shi-woo scored against them he spoke to Endou asking if he was okay and commenting on how they used a dirty trick to score. When Gouenji scored using Last Resort, Kazemaru alongside Hiura joined him in his celebration. Soon after, Korea targeted Gouenji and when he was going to shot again, he was unexpectedly blinded, injuring his leg. After the first half of the match ended, coach Zhao Jinyun decided to replace Gouenji with Kira Hiroto. Inakuni Raimon players watched Goujin Tetsunosuke who was warming up and they were wondering if he was going to replace Gouenji. Kazemaru confirmed it was exactly what he was thinking. They were impressed with Goujin's determination and at the same time embarrassed by his behavior. When the match resumed, Japan quickly scored the second goal. After Korea initiated their counterattack, Kazemaru was trying to stop Baek's Red Break, but he was pushed away by the power of the shot. Endou protected him using his Fuujin Raijin, thanks to which Kazemaru didn't fall. Unluckily Lee Dong-hyuk intercepted the ball and scored the second goal for Korea. Near the end of the match, Inazuma Japan used their tactic Angel Robe to break Red Bison's defense and managed to score the third goal, winning this match. Later the team celebrated in the locker room and Gouenji encouraged them to further the fight, although he had to leave them for some time, due to his injuries.
Kazemaru along with his teammates visited Gouenji in the hospital. Later the team gathered at the briefing and coach Zhao revealed that he didn't get any information about their next opponent, so they had to practice on their own. Kazemaru was training with the others on the field. Later the coach asked him, Fubuki Shirou, Hiura, Inamori Asuto and Goujin to go shopping. When Hiura found in a shop a familiar cap, they decided to look for a mysterious Mutekigahara Fujimaru, who badly defeated players before their match with Red Bison. Although Kazemaru had doubts about his identity, he agreed to help the team in searching. Finally, they found Mutekigahara at the river and challenged him, however just like before they've lost. Hiura swore on his grandmother's name to find out the truth about Mutekigahara which confounded Kazemaru.
When the match with Australian team Shining Satans began, everything was different than expected. Kazemaru admonished Asuto when he easily lost the ball, but it seemed to vanish into the air. Australia quickly scored the first goal, which completely shocked Inazuma Japan. They were wondering what happened and Kazemaru noticed that there was something wrong with Australia. What's more, they moved their arms in an artificial. The audience, referee, coach and the benched players behaved like nothing happened which proved that only those on the field were distracted by Australian actions. Later it was revealed that Shining Satans were using hypnosis to cheat Inazuma Japan. According to Raimon Natsumi’s advice, Japan’s players closed their eyes passing the opponents. Thanks which they managed to score the first goal. Soon after Australia used another strategy and blinded the opponents with mirrors hidden in their cleats. Haizaki Ryouhei noticed that it might be Ichihoshi Mitsuru who blinded them as well. Kazemaru mentioned that he was staying close to the opponent’s players. When Kazemaru asked Kidou Yuuto what he was going to do, he revealed that he would eliminate Ichihoshi and he told Haizaki and Hiroto to take care of it. While Haizaki and Hiroto were hitting Ichihoshi, Kazemaru was wondering how far Kidou would go. Later he told Kidou that it was a good idea to teach Ichihoshi a lesson, but he shouldn’t forget himself and not go too far, as he didn’t want to lose Kidou. When Endou evolved his technique into Fuujin Raijin Ghost and managed to stop Australia’s shot, Inazuma Japan could focus on a counterattack. In a very short time, they scored three more goals, tying with Australia 4-4.
Only 5 minutes were remaining till the end of the match and Haizaki alongside Hiroto kept shooting at Ichihoshi. Later unexpectedly they created a new technique thanks to which Japan won this match with 5 points. While the team celebrated their winning, Endou praised everyone for their fight, but Kazemaru emphasized that without his Fuujin Raijin Ghost, they could have lost. Later Kidou was trying to force the coach to expel Ichihoshi from the team and when he refused it, Kidou almost lost control of himself. Kazemaru and Endou had to calm him down and Kidou revealed the team the truth about Ichihoshi, asking them for help. When they agreed to eliminate him, FFI administration bureau workers came in to investigate players’ lockers. Unexpectedly some pills were found in Kidou's locker. Consequently, he was accused of doping. Kazemaru along with Endou was trying to stop them but Kidou was taken away. The team was shocked especially as Ichihoshi appeared and seemed to have something common with this matter. Later in the evening, Kazemaru was talking to Endou about Kidou's behavior which wasn't praiseworthy but on the other hand, Ichihoshi was responsible for shameful acts. However, Endou still considered him as a teammate.
Before the match with Uzbekistan's team Eternal Dancers, Inazuma Japan participated in a special relay race. When they finished, Kazemaru asked them to do another different training. Later due to unforeseen circumstances Endou got arrested and the team was left without their captain. Kazemaru stated that it was planned by some kind of organization in order to weaken the team and undermine their morale. Coach Zhao decided to replace Endou with Nishikage as the goalkeeper. When the match began Kazemaru told Asuto that Nishikage's abilities were comparable to Endou's. He encouraged the team to fight but later he looked at Haizaki and Hiroto, worrying about their behavior. As it turned out his fears were justified while the players couldn't focus on the game, making simple mistakes and arguing each other. Before the first half of the match ended, Inazuma Japan was losing by 2 points. While the team was resting during the break, exhausted and depressed, unexpectedly Nosaka Yuuma appeared before them. With Nosaka on the field, the game has changed immediately. Kazemaru was surprised how much they improved just a while after he joined them. Inazuma Japan quickly tied with Uzbekistan 2-2. It turned out that Nosaka called earlier Kazemaru and asked him to conduct a training which was in fact preparation to use Grid Omega ver2.0. Nosaka decided to initiate it now when Uzbekistan started to play rough and kept up the pressure on Inazuma Japan. This tactic had a decisive effect on Eternal Dancer's stamina and Japan easily scored another 2 goals, which sealed their victory. Everyone praised Nosaka but Kazemaru was worrying that it wouldn't discourage their enemies.
When Endou left the arrest, coach Zhao met with the team and revealed to them the truth about the Orion Foundation and Ichihoshi as the Disciple of Orion. Zhao explained that Orion was sending their spies to different teams in order to control the results of the matches. Now when it was confirmed that Ichihoshi was their enemy, Kazemaru asked if Zhao agreed about their decision to eliminate him from the team. However, Endou was against such actions and revealed to the team true about tragic Ichihoshi's past. According to his words, the Orion Foundation took care of Ichihoshi when he lost his father and brother in a car accident. Later Iwato Takashi admitted that Ichihoshi's brother didn't die and now he was in the hospital. Due to his illness, Ichihoshi cooperated with Orion to fund his brother's surgery. Finally, the team agreed to help Ichihoshi.
In order to learn to avoid rough plays and fouls, the team underwent training before the next match with Saudi Arabia's team Arab no Hinotori Gundan. Nosaka revealed to Kazemaru and Fubuki that he had a special role for them to play in the upcoming match. Just after the match started Andreas Bebo, Hisoka Masoka and Sami Luis surrounded Kazemaru trying to kick his leg. He was successfully avoiding their hits until Ichihoshi blinded him with the hidden mirror. Kazemaru got injured and had to leave the field. Soon the opponent targeted Fubuki. Despite all troubles, Inazuma Japan managed to score their first goal. In the meantime, Ichihoshi was struggling with his doubts and conflicting feelings. When Ichihoshi got hit and left the field, he started to be troubled about him hurting other teammates. Unexpectedly Kazemaru and Fubuki appeared before the team, shocking everyone. It was revealed that they underwent training with Nosaka and Nishikage, to become less sensitive to pain and were able to pretend serious injuries. Later the team found out that Ichihoshi had two personalities, his and his brother's, who died years ago. Later the team helped Ichihoshi and supported him during the match so finally, he managed to unite with his brother's personality and transformed into the real him, as Hikaru. At the end of the match, Inazuma Japan scored the second goal and won with Saudi Arabia. In the evening the team gathered to support Ichihoshi who was going to leave them.
During the briefing before their next match, coach Zhao shocked the team revealing the true identity of his supporter Li Kobun. It turned out that his real name was Li Hao, and he was the forward from the Chinese team. What's more, he was the mysterious boy who beat Japan's player as a Mutekigahara Fujimaru. As he stated he was only helping Zhao levelling up the team. Zhao explained that their main goal was destroying the Orion Foundation and free soccer.
Kazemaru along with Nosaka, Nishikage and Goujin were watching Ichihoshi training with Endou. They were impressed with his hard work and a huge commitment. When the next day he unexpectedly disappeared together with Asuto, they started to worry about them. Kazemaru stated that it was unusual not to try contact with the team throughout the whole day. When it started to rain, Inazuma Japan decided to look for them. Thanks to Hiura they figured out when they could go and they found Ichihoshi and Asuto in the late evening, while they were leaving the forest. Everyone assured Ichihoshi that he was already part of the team, and he didn't need to prove that he deserved their friendship.
The team was almost ready to go for their next match when suddenly Kudou Michiya showed them a strange message from coach Zhao. Due to unexpected health problems, he wasn't able to participate in the upcoming match. Although it wasn't something unusual in his behavior, Kazemaru and Tatsuya noticed that they would play without supervision in a very important match. When they arrived at the stadium everything cleared up: Zhao Jinyun was only bluffing about his illness and joined the Chinese team as their trainer. The match began and China overwhelmed Inazuma Japan with unusual moves and tricks. They easily scored two goals, breaking Endou's Fuujin Raijin Ghost and shocking everyone. Later Saginuma Osamu and Nishikage joined Endou and combined their techniques into one powerful The Asura, blocking Chinese attacks. At the end of the first half of the match, China used their tactic Shourinji Kousoku Juuhachijin which disoriented Japan with the optical illusion. Nosaka explained that they created afterimages and Kazemaru understood that it was possible because of their amazing speed. Later Goujin entered the field and to everyone's surprise, he created a new mighty technique Fire Lemonade Rising which crushed the opponent's goal. Kazemaru with the other teammates praised Goujin and his amazing shot.
China used later new tactic Minna de Jiangshi and Mouko Shuurai to block Japan's attack and got through their defense. Later due to Nosaka's order Kazemaru gathered around Asuto with other players and tricked the Chinese team. Ichihoshi broke free and passed the ball to Fudou thanks to which they scored the second goal for Japan and tied. When Ichihoshi's analysis of the Chinese team was completed, Inazuma Japan created a new tactic The General. All players got direct instructions on where they should go and what to do. Kazemaru along with Tatsuya blocked Zhou Xing and Li Hao on their way. In the end, Goujin misled China pretending to use Fire Lemonade but he was only passing to Haizaki who scored the third goal with his new technique Shark The Deep. Haizaki's shot made a huge impression on Kazemaru, he asked when Haizaki learnt it and he talked about his secret training. Chinese team counterattacked once again but they were stopped with the three goalkeepers and three more players who supported them. After the match ended everyone thanked for fair and honest play and Kazemaru stated that all players did their best. They promised to play one more time someday.
Inazuma Japan was invited for a luxury send-off party on the ship, held by the World soccer Association. During the party, it was revealed that Spain would be their first opponent and the other teams in group A would be Russia and America. Before the departure to Russia Kazemaru along with Fudou visited their team Teikoku Gakuen. Sakuma welcomed them warmly, teasing Fudou. Genda Koujirou informed that now Teikoku became stronger, and they were winning victory after victory. Kazemaru stated that even without Kidou, the team was doing well. Sakuma confirmed it and emphasized his role as the captain of Teikoku. In the end, he wished them luck and encouraged them to further the fight with the world.
During the flight to Russia, Kazemaru was talking with Gouenji about Kidou who was absent and decided to stay in Japan. Kazemaru wished to be with him now, but Gouenji reminded that Kidou had an important mission to find new strong players for Inazuma Japan. Kazemaru was really excited about that and couldn't wait to meet new members of the team. At the airport in Russia, they met with Clario Orvan with his team Muteki no Giant and later American team Star Unicorn. They greeted warmly with their old friends Domon Asuka and Ichinose Kazuya and were talking about the Orion Foundation activities. To their surprise Russian team, Perfect Spark was waiting for them and welcomed everyone with their captain Froy Girikanan. They didn't expect such friendly reception by the opponents. Their surprise was even bigger when Froy revealed that none of them was part of the Orion Foundation and they didn't approve of their actions. While the team was waiting for the bus, former Raimon members were talking about their first match with Spain. Kazemaru stated that at that time and with their level, they couldn't even think about facing the world. Now everything has changed, they all became stronger and could compete with the best teams. While the team was on the bus, Kazemaru was wondering what the meaning of Froy's words about was not being affiliated with The Orion Foundation. It seemed to be obvious that the Russian team was connected with them.
As soon as the match started, Spanish defender Reinaldo Baraja stole the ball from Haizaki and charged with the others to Japan's goal. Kazemaru along with Fubuki and Sakanoue tried to stop him, but Clario easily got through. Later he scored the first goal for Spain. When the match resumed and Clario shot again the power of Diamond Ray pushed Endou towards the goal, Kazemaru shouted his name with the other teammates to support him. Finally, Endou managed to protect the goal and Kazemaru stated that they finally got their revenge, however, Endou replied that it wasn't over yet. In the second half of the match, Japan used a new tactic. Kazemaru along with the others kept passing the ball with short passes between three players. Later he kicked directly to Fubuki Atsuya but when he tried to score Spanish goalkeeper blocked him once again. They continued using this double block formation and Hiura supported Kazemaru when he fought for the ball with Emerico Lorca. After The General was used and Atsuya scored, Japan tied with Spain 2-2. However, the result of the match quickly changed when Bergamo Regult and Luther Fandam scored the 3rd goal unexpectedly, using the technique Twin Lancer which blinded the entire team. Finally, the match ended with a draw 3-3 after Asuto scored with a normal shot.
Before the match with Star Unicorn, Inazuma Japan was training hard and when they finished, Sekiya ordered free time for everyone. Kazemaru was running in the area and when Endou came back from the American campground, he immediately noticed that something was wrong. He was shocked that Ichinose and Domon were in the hospital after their match with Navy Invader. While Endou was still worried, Kazemaru smiled gently, put a hand on Endou's back and stated that if they wanted to avenge their friend, they had to take down Navy Invader. To their much surprise coach announced the arrival of the new member of Inazuma Japan and soon Aphrodi appeared before the team. He prepared a little show and asked Kazemaru, Endou and Goujin to join his 4vs4 mini-game team. Kazemaru clearly amused, stated that Aphrodi just came to the team, and he immediately made some troubles. When Aphrodi's team won after he scored a goal, Kazemaru praised his fierce plays, which he didn't expect from him before.
Before the match started, Kazemaru asked Hiroto and Aphrodi about their visit to the amusement park yesterday. Hiroto told with reluctance that only merry-go-round and teacups were fun. Aphrodi seemed to be very satisfied with the results of their trip. When Japan lost the first goal and Aphrodi initiated his tactic Heaven's Time, Kazemaru was deeply shocked. Thanks to this they scored the first goal however, later Navy Invader easily broke through this tactic. The match was really hard, although Japan played fair, the opponent began to use dirty tricks like tactic Jiraigen and clear wires which blocked their moves. Finally, Inazuma Japan managed to win with a score of 4-3. It was revealed later that Perfect Spark beat Muteki no Giant with the result of 6-0. Kazemaru was surprised, claiming that Spain was higher in the rankings than Russia. He said that Perfect Spark might throw the match with America just to preserve their stamina for the other opponents. Unexpectedly during the breakfast new member appeared before the team. It turned out that Umihara Norika would join Inazuma Japan and Kazemaru said that now the team would actually have 4 goalkeepers.
While they were talking about Perfect Spark, Kazemaru stated that Russia was the home base of the Orion Foundation, so they shouldn't let their guard down. When Norika managed to block Froy's shot, the match resumed. Yuri Rodina quickly got the ball and rushed towards Japan's goal when Kazemaru used Spinning Fence and passed to Kozoumaru, who later attacked. Soon he scored the first goal for Japan and Russia decided to use their Aurora Wave tactic. What happened later was really unexpected and strange because Japan's players couldn't open their eyes and felt pain. Kazemaru was mad about this action, stating that it wasn't tactics at all. For him, it was obvious that Russia used something forbidden. However, the opponent had another ace up their sleeve. Russia exchanged two players with Malik Kuabel and As Inam and when the latter entered the field, Japan's team noticed that his movements were similar to Asuto's. This fact completely distracted them and they couldn't focus on the game. When Sakanoue lost the ball, Kazemaru reprimanded him, stating that he should pay attention when the match was on. He looked quickly at the other teammates who were nervous and agitated. Then he decided to pass to Nosaka, who seemed to be calm and clear-headed. However, soon Russian players targeted Nosaka and Asuto paralysed him using his band. At the end of the match, Haizaki entered the field and scored the second goal for Japan, tying with Russia 2-2. In revenge, Perfect Spark paralysed the opponents with their bands and finally used against them Aurora Wave with sleeping gas. Kazemaru, Mansaku and Tatsuya fell to the ground, unable to make any move. Right after Russia scored the third goal and won this match. Later in the locker room, everyone was worried about what would happen now. They still had to wait for the result of the match between Spain and America. Kazemaru stated that there was no point to discourage and indeed it turned out that Muteki no Giant beat Star Unicorn and Japan advanced to the finals thanks to the goal difference.
