  • Background

When Kidou and Otonashi were still very young, they lost their parents due to a plane crash and grew up in an orphanage. In a flashback, Kidou was seen fighting with some bullies because they bullied Otonashi. Kidou was 6 years old and Otonashi was 5 years old at that time. The only thing about their parents that Kidou has is an old soccer magazine, which is the only bond that connects him to his father. That's why Kidou started to play soccer; whenever he kicked the ball, he felt as if he was with his father.

Both Kidou and Otonashi were separated to different families: Otonashi to the Otonashi family, while Kidou was immediately recommended by Kageyama Reiji to the Kidou Financial Group after he recognized Kidou's talents for soccer at the age of 6. To bring his sister back, Kidou made a deal with his adopted father: he'll get consecutive National championships in the Football Frontier during his three years in junior high. If he can't win consecutively, Kidou won't be able to take back Otonashi. If he loses in a district match, Kidou may be forced to leave his own family.

Ever since they were separated, he has never tried contacting his sister even once, leading her to believe she's in his way. However, the fact is, it was for Otonashi's own sake. In order to live together with her, Kidou tolerates everything and has never forgotten her.

    Appearance

Kidou wears a red cape for the half of season 1 while he was in Teikoku Gakuen and in the other half (starting from episode 17), he wears a blue cape until season 2 while he was in Raimon but it became red again during season 3 when he was in Inazuma Japan. He always wears blue and grey goggles which were given to him by Kageyama. His eyes are red without goggles, his hair is braided and tied. When he was little, he didn't wear goggles at all until Kageyama gave him the goggles. With the goggles, he could see where the ball exactly gets kicked, and exactly where it would land. When out of Raimon or just not wearing Raimon's uniform, tracksuit etc., he is seen wearing a red jacket, a black shirt, blue jeans and combat boots. In his house, he doesn't wear his jacket or combat boots, and replaces his combat boots with slippers.

In GO, his hair has grown longer. He wears a grey coat that matches his trouser's colour, a red tie, and a pair of burgundy shoes. He still wears goggles, although it's different from the previous season. The goggles are now bigger and instead of being blue with grey, they are now green with white. In Galaxy, he wears a black coat with a blue tie. During the first episode, he wears a red cape.

    Personality

Initially, Kidou was shown to be shady and haughty. He was also very obedient to Kageyama and always listened and obeyed his orders. However, he begins to change for the better as he realizes what kind of man Kageyama is later on. He starts going against his orders, searching around the academy for any traps, and threatening to reveal them to the public.

Kidou also seems very logical and reasonal, as he is a genius game strategist, Japan's command tower, knowing every single important thing there is to know about his potential opponents. He gets to know about everyone in 10 minutes and tilted the team's position correctly giving them commands. Kidou also cares for his teammates, and more importantly, his sister, like any other typical (elder) brother. He will do anything to help the although during the third season he had an identity crisis thinking that he couldn't escape Kageyama's curse. Kageyama almost tricked Kidou, saying that everything he is now is what he learned from Kageyama, but Kidou was able to surpass this.

In the manga, his shadiness stays, even as he enters the team, and sometimes ends his remarks with "what a wimp".

In GO, after ten years, he still retained some of his old personality, though he is more mature and calmer than ten years before. He also likes talking (or has the tendency to talk) about the past, as shown in episode 21 when he talked with Endou Mamoru

    Plot

    Season 1

Kidou makes his debut at the beginning of episode 1, where he gives the command to destroy an unknown school after Teikoku beat them by 13-0. He reappears by the end of the episode, leading his teammates as they arrive at Raimon. Standing before the school, Henmi Wataru asks him why they were going to face a team like that, as he thinks doing so wouldn't hone their skills. Kidou replies by saying they might see something interesting, confusing Henmi.

As Teikoku approaches the field, Endou runs up to him and introduces himself, as well as thanking them for agreeing to play a practice match against Raimon. Endou tries to offer him a handshake, but he immediately turn his head to the side and asks if it would be okay for Teikoku to make a little warm up before the match, since the field is new to them. Endou agrees. During the warm up, after noticing Endou's captain band, Kidou snaps his fingers; Jimon and Henmi immediately pass the ball to him, and he shoots it at the Raimon's goalkeeper. Endou manages to hold it, but his gloves get several burn marks, much to his awe. Kidou smirks at the latter's reaction, though Endou quickly recovers and states it is starting to get interesting.

In episode 2, he and his teammates had a match against Raimon. At first Kidou was only interested in Gouenji, rather than the rest of the Raimon team. He sneaks around Raimon to investigate the team, making sure no one catches him. But then after Domon said that the Raimon bus was tampered so that they can't make it to the nationals, he begins to question Kageyama. In the match for the district national finals, Kidou checks the school making sure nothing has been tampered with. After seeing Kageyama's wrongdoings, he and the rest of Teikoku Gakuen made a decision to forfeit the nationals match, but their decision was left undone due to Endou's determination to play against them, they did. Despite the fact Teikoku lost in the nationals, they are qualified as the last time winners to get in again. In their first match with Zeus, Teikoku lost. Kidou had injured his leg in the match with Raimon and since he doesn't have any information about Zeus he decided not to participate. He soon thinks of himself to be a disgrace. Eventually, he joins Raimon, changing his cape to blue. At first, no one in the Raimon team accepted Kidou, even his own sister. But after Endou protests, and Kidou's strategic mind helped them win the match, they accepted him. In the end, he decided to stay in Raimon. He helped Raimon to win the match against Kidokawa Seishuu and they won the Football Frontier and defeated Zeus.

    Season 2

In episode 27, at the first match with Gemini Storm, Raimon lost to them. He becames shocked when Goryuu Reo blocks Inazuma Break with only one hand. Then they met Touko and Fubuki to help win against them, but Gouenji quit the team, due to his own good. Then, he met Kageyama again in episode 38. But this time Kageyama made another team called Shin Teikoku Gakuen, which has two of his old teammates, Sakuma and Genda. They used the power of the Aliea Meteorite because Fudou convinced them. In order to save his teammates, he has no choice but to battle them. Eventually his old teammates came back to their senses, Sakuma badly injured. During that time the ship was sinking and everyone went off except for Kidou. He faced Kageyama unleashing his anger, but the ship was sinking, shocked to hear that Kageyama had called Kidou his 'greatest creation'. Detective Onigawara had to carry him to the helicopter. During that time his old teammates were grateful for him. Then after sometime Kidou went to Teikoku Gakuen to know if he hadn't betrayed his teammates for leaving them and joining Raimon, during this time the Death Zone 2 was mastered by Kidou, Domon, and Endou. In the end Raimon won and defeated Aliea Gakuen but had to face the Dark Emperors. They also ended up defeating them.

    Season 3

Three months after the battle with Dark Emperors, he was one of the people chosen to represent Japan. Kidou was angry that Fudou was in the group. In one time Endou saw Kidou staring somewhere and wanted to know what he was thinking about, Kidou said that he can't escape Kageyama's curse. Mostly during the competition he keeps strategizing. During the time where Fubuki and Midorikawa were injured due to Fire Dragon's tactics, Perfect Zone Press, they were replaced by Someoka and Sakuma. At first the Inazuma Japan team still didn't accept Fudou. But after Endou protesting, the Inazuma Japan accepted him, just like they accepted Kidou in Raimon Eleven. The first time Kidou saw Kageyama was on the island they were in, Liocott. He also saw Fudou with Kageyama.

Both Kidou and Sakuma thought that Fudou was going to obey Kageyama's orders, harming the Inazuma Japan team so they wouldn't be able to get to the finals. Kidou also told Endou that Kageyama was on the island. That was in episode 90. Later, they came to know that Fudou was actually a good guy when they defeated Team K. Debuted in episode 93, also with the help of the Italy team, Orpheus. Sakuma, Kidou and Fudou practiced Koutei Penguin 3gou in one point to master it, in order to master it, they just needed to add height so that they can make it 3 dimensional. In episode 91, he had a feeling that Kageyama was on the same island as they are. Then Kageyama made a team called Team K so that they can take Italy's national team. Endou, Kidou, Sakuma and Fudou joined Orpheus for a while to fight against Team K. During episode 92, he almost came back to Kageyama and believed he can't truly escape from Kageyama because ever thing he learned was in fact from Kageyama. But he managed to reason out in episode 93 that he has already a new soccer and that's the soccer of Endou's.

In the match with Orpheus, Kageyama became a good guy and told Kidou that he wanted to play fairly with real soccer, but in episode 106, Kageyama died and he was very upset about it, and at the moment keeps Kageyama's sunglasses that Onigawara Gengorou gave Kidou. During episode 108, his sister Otonashi was going to be offered as a sacrifice by the dark angels and he was very angry about Otonashi being kidnapped. Then he led White Team to the Demon's Gate to save his sister. During episode 112, they sneak in the Kingdom's residence to see what is troubling the captain of The Kingdom. Afterwards, they fought against The Kingdom and won. Their next match was against Little Gigant and Hiroto, Fubuki, Kidou used Big Bang to score a point, though it eventually got blocked. But in the end, Inazuma Japan won.

In episode 126 he graduated from Raimon, and when it was Endou's turn to receive the diploma, it was seen that him and along with the rest of Raimon, they where all crying because they where about to go their separate ways.

Then in episode 127, they had one last graduation match with each other, in which he used Koutei Penguin 2gou with Fubuki and Ichinose but was stopped by Endou's God Hand thus the match ended in both groups not scoring a goal, since they where all equally matched. All of them listened to Endou's last speech, and promised that they'll keep on playing soccer from Endou's word that he said "Let's play soccer!" to which everyone happily agreed on.

    Inazuma Eleven GO

Kidou had initially intended to join Italy’s national league, but circumstances with Fifth Sector has led him into the position of Teikoku’s Commander. He first appears at the end of episode 14, talking to Teikoku's captain, with Sakuma Jirou standing by his side.

In episode 15, he meets with Endou and Otonashi and reveals to them that he is the Teikoku's coach and that he supports the Fifth Sector's ideals about soccer control.

However, in episode 18, it was revealed that Kidou and the other members of Teikoku were secretly part of a Resistance, an organization that is secretly fighting against Fifth Sector's oppressive command. He also comments that, after the match between Raimon and Teikoku, the SEEDs from the second team had started to obey his orders. In episode 21, he stated that he was appointed by Hibiki to become Raimon coach-assistant.

In the following day at episode 24, a new person joins the Raimon team, he happily wants to join the Raimon team and introduces himself as "Hikaru". Otonashi Haruna asks what his surname is. Hikaru was having second thoughts of telling his surname, thinking of what they'll think. Though he states his surname is "Kageyama" and states his whole name; "Kageyama Hikaru". After stating that the Raimon team smiles though, Otonashi Haruna drops her board and the Raimon team is surprised on the faces of Otonashi Haruna, Endou Mamoru and Kidou Yuuto, which showed the faces of being surprised and shocked.

Since both three of them know Kageyama Reiji, they are surprised to hear Hikaru's surname was also Kageyama to which shocked Otonashi, Endou and Kidou. Though, the most shocked person was Kidou.

In episode 25, when Fubuki Shirou was explaining Hakuren's tactic, Kidou was able to find a way to break through the tactic.

In episode 27, he goes to the Inazuma Tower and talks with Endou Mamoru and is surprised that Endou will leave Raimon. Kidou was shocked and surprised, he wanted to ask why but he gets an unclear answer. Though, he had no other choice but to accept it. After the discussion, he becomes Raimon's new coach, though he was still surprised with what Endou had said.

In episode 28, the whole Raimon team is getting a practice from Kidou for their next upcoming match and he gives the Raimon team a hard practice, this makes the Raimon team having a hard time and especially Nishizono Shinsuke and Amagi Daichi, and Tobitaka talked to Kidou, remembering him the times at Inazuma Japan. He is now Raimon's current coach but it is unknown until when he will stay as their coach. In episode 29, he was really surprised when he saw Aphrodi being Kidokawa Seishuu's coach and he was also worried about him joining Fifth Sector.

In episode 30, Kidou was glad to see Someoka Ryuugo again, and Kidou knew that Someoka was a famous player in the Italian pro league.

In episode 31, when Raimon won the match Aphrodi turned his face and looked at Kidou, Kidou actually smiled so Aphrodi smiled back at him. He is also seen talking to Someoka, at the end of the episode when Someoka left. In episode 34, Kidou ordered Akane to take a video of Pinball Stadium's effects in order to find a way to break past the bumpers.

In episode 37, he, along with Otonashi, were thanking Tachimukai for coming to help Shinsuke in his position as goalkeeper. They later saw as Shinsuke summons his keshin, Goseishin Titanias.

In episode 46, it was revealed by Tominaga Jun that after Raimon won the Holy Road, he became Teikoku's commander again.

Inazuma Eleven GO 2: Chrono Stone

He reappeared in episode 10 and Gouenji talks to him about Endou and that he is actually alive. He then became Raimon's coach after he heard Gouenji's explanation and tries to convince Endou Daisuke to help Raimon.

In episode 39, he became the coach of El Dorado Team 01.

    Inazuma Eleven Outer Code

In this special episode Kidou faced with the powerful opponent in the person of his buttler Hakamada. During the meal Kidou was talking with his foster father about leaving Raimon school. Kidou informed him that he was now a member of reinforcement committee and would join the new school to strengthen their football club and Japanese soccer as well. In the further future they also intended to face the world football. Kidou's foster father was disappointed of their last match with Barcelona Orb and stated that with such lack of abilities they shouldn't have dreams about the world. Kidou agreed but in the meantime he was constantly distracted with outstanding dishes served by Hakamada. When he tried it was so delicious, so juicy, that texture and flavor, everything made him lost him senses. He was almost in food heaven and at the same time he suffered because he couldn't completely give in to the pleasure of eating. His foster father didn't notice anything unusual and continued criticism of the football game they showed. He also warned him not to embarrass Japan in front of the entire world. Kidou thought that Hakamada must definitely improve his skills as a chef lately. Now he was just teasing him knowing Kidou's sophisticated taste and serving remarkable dishes that he couldn't resist anymore. Kidou accepted that challenge and he, the brilliant tactician, was defeated and trapped now. He could only think: just one more bite, please!

    Inazuma Eleven Ares no Tenbin

Kidou, as part of the reinforcement, left Raimon in the interest of strengthening the soccer in Japan. He is sent to Seishou Gakuen. In episode 2, he is seen in a flashback in the showers with Haizaki Ryouhei telling him he'll play against Inakuni Raimon.

    Inazuma Eleven Orion no Kokuin

Kidou met with Gouenji and Endou at the ceremony where the members of Inazuma Japan were announced. They were very excited and Kidou was clearly proud of their work as a reinforcement committee, stating that the level of Japan’s soccer significantly raised up. Later Kidou was selected as a midfielder for the team. On the next day Inazuma Japan had their first training and coach Zhao Jinyun introduced them a visitor who was Clario Orvan from the spanish team Barcelona Orb. He wanted to face alone against all Japan's players and none of them was able to stop him. He finished this outstanding run with his shot Diamond Ray. The team felt overwhelmed with this strong and powerful shot, completely unable to react. Kidou asked him if he was going to sit back and watch them and Clario admitted that at the beginning it was his intention. But when he saw one Japan’s player practicing, it astonished him to that point that he decided to back to his country and start training. Kidou asked who he had in mind but Clario only smiled, stating that obviously they didn’t figure it out yet. The match with Korea’s team Red Bison started and nothing foretold anything unusual. Inazuma Japan attacked just from the beginning and Korea kept up them with the step, they abilities were comparable. When Red Bison started to play rough, Japan’s players were wondering if that was their strategy, but Kidou stated that they their skills were real enough. When Red Bison scored their first goal after Endou’s view was obstructed, Inazuma Japan stood shocked and confunded. Kidou stated that Korea’s shot was enough powerful to break Endou’s defense and it wasn’t only the obstruction that prevented Endou from stopping the shot.

When the match resumed and Inazuma Japan figured out how to avoid rough plays, it was time for the counterattack. Kidou initiated their new tactic Juu to Gou thanks which Gouenji was able to score with his technique Last Resort. Kidou understood that it was Gouenji who amazed Clario Orvan during the practice. He looked at Gouenji proud and happy, stating that words “ace striker”were no longer sufficient to describe player like Gouenji. When Gouenji was trying to score another goal, unexpectedly something blinded him and he fell on the field. Kidou asked what happened but Gouenji couldn’t clearly explained that and he left the field, leaving Kidou thinking that his technique could change Japan’s soccer history. When the first half of the match ended, Kidou was deeply moved after Gouenji got injured. He kept asking if he was alright and stated that he wanted to go with Gouenji and Endou against the world, he couldn’t lose him now as well. He was wondering if blinding him was the part of the opponent’s strategy, saying clearly if they were cheating in this match. Gouneji revealed that something shone him into eyes for the moment and after that he was knocked down. The second half of the match started and Korea began more impatient. They scored quickly their second goal and hit their captain Seok Min-Woo, when he objected to their way of playing. Kidou looked at them in silence. Later he initiated their tactic Angel Robe thanks which they got through the Korea’s defense and were able to score the winning goal, when Haizaki Ryouhei and Kira Hiroto managed to shot together. In the evening Kidou noticed Ichihoshi Mitsuru who was staring at the Endou’s room door. Later Kidou was sitting in the meating room and watching recording of their last match. When Haizaki came to him, asked Kidou what was bothering him. But Kidou responded that would tell him later. He left silent and serious, leaving Haizaki concerned about him.

Kidou visited Gouenji in the hospital before the other teammates came. He wanted to talk once again about what happened in the last match. Gouenji felt much better and his leg was bandaged now. As he stated the chances for him for participating in the next preliminaries matches was rather low. When Kidou saw on the table picture of Gouenji’s sister Gouenji Yuuka, he said that she had to be worried about him. When Gouenji told about being blinded, Kidou was wondering if it was an intentional but had no proof so far for it. The coach Zhao informed the team, that there was no data about Australian team and their play, so the Japan’s players could do whatever they wanted to. He went to the coach’s office and informed him that Gouenji was intentionally blinded in the match with Korea, stating that he would never be beaten so easily. There was also something suspicious when Korea’s captain got injured and later left the field. Kidou asked the coach if he was hiding something from them but Zhao denied that he had some secrets from his players, stating that there was nothing to worry about. Kidou asked him about Ichihoshi but Zhao refused to talk about others private informations. Ichihoshi asked Endou if they could practice together and Kidou watched them carefully. Suddenly he noticed a spike in the ball and when Ichihoshi kicked it to Endou, Kidou shouted and warned him not to touch it. He was sure it was intentional but Ichihoshi denied that had something in common with it. Kidou got angry, grabbed Ichihoshi by his clothes and demanded the explanations from him. Endou told them to calm down and they ended their training. From that moment Kidou was sure that Ichihoshi was up to something. He was waiting for Nishikage Seiya and when he left from the gym, Kidou asked him to keep an eye on Ichihoshi, which he accepted to do. Later during the practice, Kidou noticed that Haizaki was impatient and couldn’t concentrate or synchronize his moves with Kira Hiroto, blaming him of everything as well. When he left the field, Kudou Michiya asked Kidou if he was worrying about Haizaki and when he confirmed, Kudou told him to do what he recognized as appropriate in that situation. They practiced together outside and Kidou kept asking Haizaki what was wrong, causing Haizaki to grew irritated. He stated that they were facing the world and now when Gouenji left, he was the only person that the team could rely on. Kidou said that Haizaki reminded his old self and he clearly was worrying for nothing. Later they were talking about light and darkness in Haizaki’s life and Kidou remembered him that Asuto was the light that guided him earlier. Another light in his life could be found across the ocean. Kidou confessed that for him Endou was that kind of light and guide. At the end he told to Haizaki that he had what it took to become Inazuma Japan’s ace. He left him thinking that Haizaki would be alright and now he had to do something else to care about the team.

Before the match with Australia began, Haizaki looked with smile at Kidou, stating that he was also like a light for him, to the point that he was blinded. Shining Satans from the beginning didn’t behave like an ordinary team, they easily got through Endou’s defense and scored their first goal. When the ball disappeared after Australia used their tactic Invisible Kidou couldn’t believe what he just saw. When Inazuma Japan lost second point, Kidou approached to Endou, stating that he looked like he was entranced by the devil. The team gathered wondering how the ball vanished into the air, Kidou stated that teleportation was impossible and there must be some mechanism behind that. Even more suspicious was the fact that the audience and the people at the bench didn’t react at all on this strange events. Kidou stated that obviously they on the field were the only one who could see it. He smiled when Endou told that they were fighting with an invisible opponent and it was getting interesting. Kidou understand that the strange manner in which Shining Satans were moving their arms, was connected with all unaccountable behaviours. Later it was revealed by Raimon Natsumi that Australian players were using hypnosis to trick their opponents and the only way to conquer them was to close eyes when they approached. Kidou explained to the team what they should do if the opponents showed any strange movements with their arms. Their strategy succeeded and Kidou initiated tactic Juu to Go, thanks which he was able to score the first goal for Inazuma Japan. Surprisingly he used Haizaki’s signature move Overhead Penguin what made Haizaki felt uncomfortable but Kidou stated that he could do it as his teacher since Haizaki was his pupil.

When hypnosis failed, Shining Satans started to use mirrors hidden in their cleats, they blinded Kidou and right after Haizaki and Asuto. Kidou stated that the light got through his goggles so even if they closed their eyes, it wouldn’t help. He was shocked when Asuto informed them that he got sense being blinded not by the opponent’s team and later Haizaki noticed it might be Ichihoshi. Kidou confirmed it was exactly what he suspected before and asked the team to focus on the game for now. He came to Ichihoshi and told him that he was intentionally making plays that put the team at a disadvantage but Ichihoshi denied, stating that he was still representative of Japan. Before he left, he warned Kidou to be careful during the match if he didn’t want to get injured as Gouenji did. When the first half of the match ended, Kidou came to the coach and told him outraged that he should expel Ichihoshi from the team. He stated that Ichihoshi’s actions are deeply unfavourable for Japan and coach asked if he had a proof but Kidou was sure the coach knew what he was talking about. Zhao revealed to Kidou that he wasn’t able to expel Ichihoshi because he was a national goodwill ambassador, what more he should play in every match in the tournament. Zhao already got a warning for not taking Ichihoshi to play in their first match. Kidou stood confused when coach told him significantly that this matter was out of his hands. He approached to Kazemaru Ichirouta and revealed him that Ichihoshi was a trojan horse sent by someone to make Japan lose and he was going to eliminate him.

When Kazemaru asked how he intended to do it, Kidou responded that there were people on the field fit enough to this job and let Haizaki and Hiroto took care of it. Later he was calmly watching growing anger of Ichihoshi while he was hit more and more. Kazemaru came to Kidou and told him not to lose sight of Kidou Yuuto itself but he left in silence, having in minds only reminiscences of Gouenji badly injured and Endou almost hurt during the practice. Asuto approached to Kidou and kept asking if he was the one who told to Haizaki and Hiroto to behave like that, stating it wasn’t soccer at all. When the duo kept shooting at Ichihoshi and other Australian players, Shining Satans decided to exchange players. Luci Fanos came on the field and targeted Sakanoue Noboru, cutting his leg with blades hidden in cleats. When Kidou noticed that, he was terrified that the opponents went so far, it wasn’t something what he could approve. Kidou said that there was time when the actions should be taken to protect what was the most important. Sakanoue told him that he had an idea how to deal with that and later easily outsmarted Luci, using additionally Hiura’s technique Koori no Ya to freeze him. With a little help of Raimon Natsumi, Endou figured out how to stop Australian shot Time Trance. Kidou stood astonished with the other teammates and said that Endou was able to react to the time lag, by bringing out another majin. Now it was time for Inazuma Japan to counterattack and Kidou, Haizaki and Fudou Akio combined Hiura’s Koori no Yari with new technique Death Crusher Zone thanks which they scored the fourth goal for Japan. Kidou came to Ichihoshi who was knocked down by the power of their last shot and asked if he was alright. When Ichihoshi grabbed his hand, he let him go, saying that his hand slipped.

When only few minutes left to the end of the match, Kidou kept shooting at Ichihoshi with Haizaki and Hiroto. When Asuto interrupted their actions, he got hit instead of Ichihoshi and had to leave the field with him. Asuto told Kidou that if he wanted to protect the team, then he would protect soccer and his teammates because soccer wasn’t something that could be used to hurt someone or to throw anger and hatred at each other. When the match resumed Kidou easily stole the ball from Satan Gaul and passed it to Haizaki and Hiroto, who later scored the fifth goal for Inazuma Japan. Later Kidou stood at the stadium thinking that in the next match he would expose all Ichihoshi’s wrongdoing and eliminate him for good. When Inazuma Japan celebrated their winning in the locker room, Kidou was trying to force coach to eliminate Ichihoshi from the team. He became even more frustrated when Zhao didn’t react and seemed to have fun of this conversation. Then Kudou Michiya stood and told him firmly that voicing his dissent towards the coach, disrupts team discipline. Management had no need to explain its decisions to the players as well. Kidou stood trembling, being cool down by his friends Kazemaru and Endou. But he couldn’t give up and informed the team about specious behavior of Ichihoshi and asked them for help to eliminate him. The team was confounded by what they heard but they agreed. Unexpectedly some men from the FFI bureau came in and started to investigate players’ lockers. They found a small box in Kidou’s locker and immediately took him, causing him of doping as well.

Some time later Kidou met with Nishikage after the training and asked him if he finished his investigation about Ichihoshi. Nishikage confirmed that there was no doubt that he was affiliated with some kind of organization. He was leaving the camp frequently what was more strange because he could contact with those people in many other ways. Kidou decided to shadow Ichihoshi and when Nishikage asked if he wasn’t going to back to the team, Kidou explained that he wasn’t allowed to do it so far but he would help the team on his own. During the match with Phoenix Army of Arab coach Zhao revealed to the team that he asked Kidou to investigate strange behavior of Ichihoshi. Kidou went to the hospital, using the address from the letters written to Iwato Takashi by Ichihoshi’s brother. To his surprise there was no one in his room and no one even appeared through the whole day. It turned out later that Ichihoshi was the younger brother Hikaru, and the older brother Mitsuru died in a car accident with their father years ago. Hikaru in his despair assumed the older brother’s personality, he behave as Hikaru being in the hospital and leaving outside he was like the older Mitsuru.

Kidou met with Gouenji in Hibiki Seigou’s noodle shop Rairaiken to watch the match between Inazuma Japan and Chinese team Soccer Acrobatic Troupe. He said that instead of fighting in the match, he decided to take measurements against the Orion Foundation now.

Kidou along with Gouenji watched the press conference with Inazuma Japan, after they won the final match in preliminaries. He smiled when Endou told that he would like to fight first with Clario Orvan. Later they unexpectedly appeared before the team which aroused their huge enthusiasm. Ichihoshi came to Kidou and said sorry for what he’s done before. Kidou looked at him serious, stating that he always paid back his debts. Right after that, a stranger man appeared, introducing himself as an employee of the FFI administration bureau. He showed everyone a small box that was supposedly found in Ichihoshi's room. He asked if there were doping drugs and told Ichihoshi to check it out. Everyone was surprised and frightened that Kidou used the same methods as before Ichihoshi did. As it turned out later there was only plush toy in the box and it was just a joke prepared by Kidou and his butler Hakamada to prank Ichihoshi. Kidou smiled and told him that he already knew all circumstances and welcomed Ichihoshi in a team, giving him hand which he eagerly shook. Later at the party held by the World Soccer Association, it was revealed that first Japan’s opponent would be Spanish team Invincible Giant. Kidou smiled to Endou, stating that it was exactly the way as he wanted before. At the party Kidou met Clario Orvan, who was the special guest as well. They were talking about the Orion Foundation and its unfair activities in soccer. Clario was against this and committed himself to fight with Orion, as Inazuma Japan did. Later Kidou and Gouenji were talking about the upcoming match with Spain and Gouenji's injure. Somehow Kidou found out that his leg wasn't in a good condition yet. The meaning of this was clear, Gouenji wasn't able to use Last Resort on his own. But luckily he got a plan already to pass down the hissatsu to someone else in the team. Much to Kidou's surprise Nosaka appeared, stating that it could be done with three people and Gouenji promised to make it come true.

Kidou met with Endou and Gouenji at Steel Tower Plaza just like they were doing in the old days. They were talking about how far they got and Kidou stated that certainly the world tournament wouldn’t be journey without obstacles. Unexpectedly he revealed that he wasn’t going with them to Russia. Kidou planned to search for strong players for Inazuma Japan, to strengthen the team and Nosaka along with Ichihoshi would replace him on the field. Endou and Gouenji were surprised by what they just heard but they admitted Kidou was right.

Kidou was seen later in Fubuki's flashback when they were talking with Kudou Michiya about Fubuki Atsuya joining the team. As it turned out Atsuya was already on the list as the new member of Inazuma Japan. Kidou appeared again in Aphrodi’s flashback when he scouted him for Inazuma Japan. He watched Aphrodi’s efforts to change his team Zeus and lead them on a new path. Kidou also asked him to lend his power to Inazuma Japan to which Aphrodi eagerly agreed.
