Meiseki can be randomly recruited after a battle with his battle team, Kendou Club (剣道部), at Raimon's stadium entrance since he is a battle scout.

In order to recruit Meiseki, the following requirements are needed:

• Player: Ueyori
• Player: Tatsumi
• Player: Yonbuichi
• Topic: Mysterious Pencil (不思議なエンピツの話題, obtained at Raimon's second building 2F)

After this, he can be scouted for an amount of 420 Yuujou points.

• The Kanji character for "Mei," 明, in his surname, Meiseki, means bright, and, his forename, Satori, is derived from 悟り (also read as "Satori"), which, in turn, is a Japanese Buddhist term for enlightment but it can also mean comprehension or understanding, juxtapositions to his profile.
  Incidentally, his surname can also be a reference to the Meisekiji, a Bhuddist temple located in Seiyo, Ehime.
  • His dub name, Des Eving, is derived from deceiving, a reference to his profile.
