Nikaidou helped Endou and the others in episode 20 when they were having a dual match with the Mukata triplets by telling them to stop.
In the end of the match of Raimon vs Kidokawa Seishuu, he taught the triplets a lesson to work together with the team and not hog the ball all to themselves. Also telling them that Raimon won because they worked together, not only because they have Gouenji as their striker. In the end, he complemented Gouenji that he has grown to become a great player and explained that Gouenji couldn't come to the previous Football Frontier Finals because of his sister.
Nikaidou appeared to coach his team against Seishou Gakuen. He commented on how the team wasn't a real team when Gouenji got added to the team. In a flashback it was shown he allowed the challenged of the Mukata triplets against Gouenji, resulting in the team growing closer. He didn't understand Kudou's tactics in the first place, putting Haizaki in goal and Amano Masamichi in defense. He was glad when his team got 2-0 up, and was confident they were going to win this one. However, he felt the momentum fade away in the last ten minutes of the match. He was very disappointed when they lost in the end, but he was proud of his players and applauded their performance.
