Saiph (サイフ, Saifu) is a defender for Shadow of Orion.
Appearance[]
Saiph has a plump, average height build with fair skin. He has desert sand brown hair styled as triangular bunches on either side of his face, with a smaller, spherical bunch on his forehead. His eyes are thistle purple, with desert sand brown eyebrows.
Plot[]
Following Irina's declaration to the world[1], Saiph appears alongside his team, Shadow of Orion, to play a match against Zhao Jinyuns.
In the second half[2], Saiph, working together with Tabit, Yurika, and Meissa, stop Nosaka, Ichihoshi, Haizaki, and Asuto's Last Resort Σ dead in its tracks using a whirlwind generated by their simultaneous axe kick. Later, Saiph's combined defense with Procyon and Tabit is broken through by Li, Lus, and Malik's Sword of d'Artagnan, tying the score at 3-3. Following a series of substitutions, Saiph has the ball stolen from him by Froy.
During Yurika's vision, an image of him appears in the snowy field alongside his teammates, all emerging from the shadows thanks to the sparks kindled in their hearts. Later, Zhao Jinyuns' final chain shoot breaks through Saiph's combined defense with Tabit and Meissa, scoring the winning goal for Zhao Jinyuns.
Trivia[]
- His name, Saiph, is a reference to the eponymous sixth-brightest star located in the Orion constellation, a reference to Shadow of Orion's naming motif.
