The 2021 game IS the remake of the first Inazuma Eleven.
Edit: I create a new forum for Great Road.
I know this thread died but where is Garshield in Ares and Orion if he was meant to have orchestrated the events of S1 and the OG OG inazuma coach crash?

You can assume he still worked on the influence of Kageyama back then, but nothing has officially been confirmed about him as far as I know.

With no mention to him at all in this timeline, we also can assume that he doesn't exist, everything was Kageyama's own plan. (And Daisuke might be truly dead.)

So its still up in the air then. I think it should be addressed since its quite a significant plot hole

It's not a plot hole, plot hole is when the new event contradicts the previous event in the same continuity.
Garshield was never mentioned in original season 1, and Ares takes place directly after season 1. Yes, there may be things unexplained in this new timeline, but that's not what the plot hole is.
